The History of Stedman’s
Although Stedman’s is a leading landscape company in WNY today, that’s not how the 100-year old Business started. Stedman Nurseries was founded in 1920 by Emory Stedman who built a successful production nursery specializing in growing evergreen trees and shrubs and selling them both locally and nationally. Through the years, a retail garden center and landscape department were added, along with a ground maintenance division at Niagara University. Still, today Stedman’s core business is the production of premium quality landscape trees, shrubs and perennials. In fact many of our landscape and garden center competitors buy their plants from us and have been for decades. Our experienced landscape design specialists have been creating unique landscapes for over a half century and have earned dozens of landscape design awards.
